Deutsche Telekom joins NEAR Protocol validator program

Deutsche Telekom’s collaboration with the NEAR Protocol (NEAR) marks an important step for the blockchain ecosystem targeting institutional users. Telekom MMS has joined the Enterprise Node Operators (ENO) program organized by Meta Pool to contribute to the operation and security of the network. As a validator, Deutsche Telekom MMS will verify and approve transactions, playing a key role in maintaining the security and operational reliability of the NEAR Protocol.

Advantages and potential of NEAR Protocol

NEAR is a scalable and user-friendly blockchain network that allows developers to create applications for millions of users. High scalability of the network is ensured by the “sharding” method, which divides the blockchain into smaller segments. Each shard manages its own set of data, which increases network throughput and reduces load.

NEAR sharding benefits:

  1. Linear scalability: the system can process more transactions without overloading the network.
  2. Efficient load balancing: Data is distributed across segments, improving performance.
  3. Open Platform for AI Projects: Since May 2024, NEAR has focused on User-Owned AI, providing a platform where users control and organize AI project data.

Comments from the management of Deutsche Telekom and Meta Pool

Oliver Neiderle, Head of Digital Trust & Web3 Infrastructure at Deutsche Telekom MMS, said:

“Partnering with NEAR opens up new perspectives and we are on an innovative path together. The NEAR ecosystem shares our views on data sovereignty and user control over their data.”

Claudio Cossio, co-founder of Meta Pool, added:

“The partnership with Deutsche Telekom is an important step for NEAR and our Enterprise Node Operator program. Thanks to Telekom’s infrastructure expertise, we are making significant progress towards the decentralization and professionalization of the NEAR ecosystem.”

Support for decentralized AI

The collaboration with NEAR expands Deutsche Telekom MMS’s staking portfolio to include a leading blockchain network aimed at developing decentralized AI technologies and scalable solutions. The support from Telekom MMS strengthens the reliability of the NEAR infrastructure and contributes to the further development of the network, which is actively working on the integration of artificial intelligence and innovative applications.
