Binance Delists USDP Stablecoin and Ends Deposit Support on Legacy Networks

Leading international cryptocurrency exchange Binance continues to systematically optimize its trading tools and liquidity infrastructure. The trading platform has officially notified clients of the upcoming complete delisting of the regulated stablecoin Pax Dollar (USDP) from the American issuer Paxos. In addition, the exchange will stop accepting deposits through legacy blockchain routes for AVA, Gains Network (GNS) and Towns Protocol (TOWNS) tokens.

Why is Binance getting rid of the regulated stablecoin USDP?

Paxos Dollar (USDP), despite full compliance with the regulatory requirements of the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) and 100% backing of short-term US Treasury bills, has finally lost the competition for market share. The dominance of USDT and the rapid growth of USDC liquidity pools have caused daily trading volumes in USDP pairs to fall to critical lows. Maintaining spot order books, margin markets and Simple Earn accumulation products for an illiquid asset has become impractical from the point of view of exchange risk management.

All spot trading pairs with Pax Dollar will be permanently stopped on September 24, 2026 at 06:00 UTC. Automated trading bots and subscriptions to profitability services will be forcibly closed in advance. Users holding USDP in exchange wallets are advised to independently convert coins to other stablecoins (USDT, USDC or FDUSD) without fees through the Binance Convert interface, or request withdrawal to external on-chain addresses before the gateways are disabled.

How will changing networks for GNS, AVA and TOWNS tokens affect traders?

In parallel, the exchange announced stricter requirements for deposit routing: starting September 14, 2026, Binance will completely stop crediting AVA, GNS and TOWNS tokens sent through unpopular and outdated third-party sidechains. To fund accounts, traders are now allowed to use exclusively basic high-speed networks – Ethereum and Arbitrum One L2 rollup. Any transactions made through disabled networks after this date will not be credited to the balance and may require a lengthy and expensive manual recovery procedure through technical support.
